I'm Back from Emerald City Comic Con!

I walked for 8 hours straight, talked to a ton of awesome people, spent a butt-load of money, bought a bunch of cool toys and comics and thanks to my new vintage 1983 Darth Vader lightsaber, Captain America shield, brand spanking new Mister Miracle t-shirt and vintage Spider-Man knit ski mask (that was actually scored on eBay, but was waiting for me when I got home from the con), I'm have been instntly transformed into the Fearsome Fanboy!

I'll be devoting this entire week to all the toys I scored! So stay tuned!

Also, if you all want to see some of the pics I took of people in costumes, you can swing on by my Flickr set HERE. Enjoy!

  3. You like some kind of deranged Taskmaster lol! I checked out your pics over at Flickr and it looks like you had an awesome time (who wouldn't with all those catwomen around?). What was up with the last pic, though? Someone was definetly not happy about being the Greatest American hero ha ha.

  4. Wow, I thought I saw everyone in awesome costumes, but clearly you have me beat! I'll have my own photos (incorporated into video) hopefully later today on Random Acts of Geekery.

You know, Reis, sometimes I think for conventions, we should try to get some kind of Pacific NW Blogger organization started to promote our various blogs, and then we could pool our resources to get a table at area conventions which we could use as a base of operations (i.e., when we're walking around buying stuff, we can drop things off there so we're not lugging it around for eight hours)!

  6. Thanks, everybody!

Oni - Her mom said, "Make your superhero face" and that's what she did. It was so cute.

Jon K - That's not a bad idea, but who else is in this area? (Also, I made three trips to my car to drop stuff off!)

Okay, maybe I need to make a video blog now. ;)

  7. Watching the video blog now, Reis... There have to be other geek bloggers in the Washington/Oregon/Idaho area... surely we aren't the only two! Maybe we just need to make a plea for other area bloggers?

I just did one trip in and one trip out of the convention, and my bag just had comics and trades (three Essential Hulks, two Showcase Presents World's Finest, two Showcase Presents Superman Family), and they were HEAVY! Walking around with them in my shoulder bag was painful after a while! At least action figures don't add up weightwise that fast, eh?
