Here Comes Lego Santa Claus, Here Comes Lego Santa Claus, Right Down Lego Santa Claus Lane...

Yay! I finally have a Lego Santa Claus in my collection! And it's all thanks to the amazing Ron R. from Ron's Random Stuff. He hosted a little give-away last week, to help get himself and everyone else in the holiday spirit, and so he sent me this little jolly old elf. I've been slowly building a collection of toy Santa's for a few years now, adding a new St. Nick to the display every Christmas, and I had been dying to get a Lego one. Now he's here and he's even cuter than I imagined.

Ron sent along a couple of other cool items including these brilliant little vending machine monster finger puppets. He did a little right up about these rubbery creepazoids a while back and I'm completely in love with them and their gruesome little faces...

But the real surprises came in the form of these two smashed pennies from the Buffalo Zoo!

I'm an avid smashed penny collector and love getting ones from friends around the country to places I hope to one day visit. These two would make excellent showcase pieces on an episode of Penny Hunter.

Anyway, I can't thank you enough, Ron! I, for one, am now fully into the Christmas spirit.

An extra large triple helping of thanks goes out to Jboy for sending me these suh-wheeeeeeeeeet Lego Ninjago ninja minifigures. I hadn't picked up any of these yet, but now I'm able to truly enjoy the sheer awesomeness that comes in the form of four little 2" tall badass ninjas and their wise and powerful sensei.

MORE Series 7 Lego Minifigures!

I just can't get away from these adorable little guys! Just as I was thinking about easing up on collecting them, I managed to get my hands on a couple more and once again realized how unbelievably cute and fun to collect these little yellow-skin denizens of Legoland really are.

Let's take a look at my latest aquisitions...

First up is King Neptune, Lord of the Seas! My boss gave me this guy when I was last down in San Diego for Comic Con. Usually, he and I get a chance to head out and do some Lego minifigure hunting together just for fun, but the con had us way too busy for that. But he did toss this extra King Neptune my way. For sheer number of original pieces, this one is a king, indeed.

The next three were sent to me by Chris C. in what was supposed to just be a trade; my extra Bunny Suit Guy for his Computer Nerd Guy. But nasty weather left him without power for a while and so he didn't get to send out his end of the deal for a while, so to make up for it, he sent me a few extras. He totally didn't need to do that, but it's things like this that make me truly love the collecting community. Thanks a ton, Chris C.!

Here we see Tarzan, King of the Jungle. Check out those abs! I wonder how he got those scratches?

Next we have The Hippie Guy. This one actually really cracks me up because he totally reminds me of this dude from summer camp that was always singing corny hippie songs at our camp fires. He's so groovy, man! Far out!

Here's the real prize from this batch; the Computer Nerd Guy! I loooooooooooove this minifigure! The emoticon mug, the sweater vest. And this figure is worth its weight in gold for the little laptop computer alone. Priceless!

So, again, Chris C. is the man! He also sent along a Viking Lady, but I already talked about her in my last Lego minifigure post, so I omitted her from this one.

Now for the king of all Lego Minifigures. I bought this one at a Lego store after standing there, squeezing the bags like a weirdo for about 20 minutes. It got to the point where the employees started helping. It was a lot of work, but I finally got my Motorcycle Daredevil Guy!

Good... gravy... This figure is amazing! You can say he's not Evel Knievel all you want, but this child that live through that last part of the '70s knows a mini Evel Knievel when he sees one. Dig that awesome mustache. Check out that carefully done hair. That cape! That helmet!

Now all I need is a white motorcycle for him to jump over things. I have a purple one from Catwoman and I think I may have a green one from an old Indiana Jones set somewhere, but this diminutive daredevil needs one that matches his road leathers. Looks like I'm on a quest.

Lego Monster Fighters Swamp Creature!

Okay, I fought and I fought against buying any of the new Lego Monster Hunter sets, but great balls of hellfire, these sets are probably the awesomest Lego sets ever created.

I spent about 20 minutes looking at each set at Target the other day, and came so close to just pulling the trigger and buying every darn one of them, but cooler heads prevailed and I opted to just whet my whistle with one little set. But in little packages come amazing Lego minifigures and as soon as I laid eyes on that adorable little swamp creature, I had to have it.

I actually really love Lego sets, especially these little ones that I can put together and fiddle around with while on my lunch break or something. There's just something about a brand new little pile of bricks and parts that get's my heart pumping.

I won't go into the set too much. I mean, it's cool and all. I dig the swamp boat thingy and the gun-totin' greaser dude is pretty rad, but these are the parts that will probably just end up in my small lego tub never to be pulled out again.

No, the real reason for buying this set is for this glorious green ghoul right here...

Jeezey petes! Look at those awesome bulgy eyeballs and those needle-like teeth! The headpiece alone is like nothing I have ever seen on a Lego figure.

One of the other pleasant surprises with this set was this little green frog piece. Totes adorbs...

So, now I have a Gillman for my Lego monster menagerie, and he just fit's in perfectly...

Again, just writing about this series is giving me the itch to go get more, but my toy-allowance needs to be reserved for the upcoming San Diego Comic Con. But I can't stop thinking about that Vampire jalopy or that Ghost Train set.

Anyway, time will tell if I give in or not. But I'll try and stay strong.

Okay, I Finally Bought Some Series 7 Lego Minifigs!

Even though I have almost complete sets of series 1 through 6 of the highly addicting blind-bag Lego minifigures, I found myself resisting the urge to pick up any of the newest series 7 figures. I'm not exactly sure why. Perhaps I'm getting a little sick of the whole blind-bag thing. There's nothing like buying a handful of figures and getting 4 Scottish warriors. That actually happened. I felt so cheated.

But, the collector in me can only resist for so long, so I picked up a few. Just thought I'd share what I've got so far...

CRAP! Not one daredevil stunt driver! Oh well, I'll probably try again. Because the collector in me is a compulsive beast.

Also, anyone need a Bunny Guy? I got two. :)

Star Wars Scenes from Legoland!

As I mentioned before, on our way up to Anaheim for Wondercon, we decided that it would be a blast to kill a couple of hours at Legoland. Now, I won't go into every little detail about my adventures there, let's just say that it's a brilliant little theme park that's perfect for the whole family and we had a blast.

But none of their displays and rides could hold a candle (at least in this geek's eyes) as their stunning Star Wars display, that showcased several key moments in the original Star Wars trilogy. Apparently, they have displays to the prequels as well, but that area was under construction and since I loathe those movies, that was fine by me.

But I practically lost my mind over these recreated classic scenes from the Battle of Hoth, the Rebel Attack on Endor and the Mos Eisley Spaceport.
