I just wanted to take a quick second to share this minty stack of vintage Marvel novels I scored at my favorite used book store. I've never even seen these before, and at $2 a pop, I snapped them up quicker than hungry hippo snaps up white marbles.
I've yet to read them, so they may be complete garbage, but after reading the first chapter of one of the Spider-Man books over a 12" meatball sub at Subway, I gotta say, the writing wasn't too bad. But, that could've been the meatball sub talking.
Anyway, check it...
If nothing else, you gotta dmit that these covers are gorgeous! Excelsior!
'Nuff said!
Gorgeous indeed! And quite a steal you got there, I think! Seems like the name could be something... Marvel and Novel.. Narvels? Movels? I dunno... LOL
ReplyDeleteGotta love the Kingpin. Beat a hero to death with a street sign while keeping a cigar in his mouth. That is hardcore.
ReplyDeleteWhich makes m e wonder; Did Kingpin have super strength. Because I gotta imagine that streets signs are hella heavy.
DeleteThose are great finds! You must have had some excellent timing because I can't imagine those would have lasted long on the shelf.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. Stuff like this usually gets snapped up pretty quickly. Good thing I hit this store twice a week. :)
DeleteI believe that Kingpin is stronger than he looks.
ReplyDeleteI have the two Hulk books.
I love the artwork on the covers, especially the Spidey/Kingpin one. Awesome pick ups.
ReplyDeleteThose are great! Awesome scores.
ReplyDeleteI love the art on these books!
ReplyDeleteThese are novels so they have limited to no artwork correct?Nice to be able to use the old imagination every once in a while. They look awesome Reis ;)
ReplyDeleteCorrect. No artwork inside at all. These are good old fashioned novels. I think I'm going to start one of the Spider-Man ones tonight!
DeleteNice!
